Gorgeous on the Go – Convertible Jewels Add Versatility & Fun

In the modern world, we are all now more connected than ever, with friends and family being no more than a click or touch away. This also means we have more connections than ever before in human history, and for many of us, that means more invitations, more obligations and more appointments on our digital calendar than we can manage. So how do we keep ourselves looking fabulous when we are constantly on the go? The best tools for a sophisticated socialite or girl boss are accessories! Dressing up or down our favorite fashion ensembles can be easy, and more important, quick, when we add convertible jewelry to our wardrobe. Assael has some sensational and very thoughtfully designed jewels that can keep us looking gorgeous from the boardroom to the bar or from the soccer field to the dinner table.

Detachable Drop Earrings

Versatile Jewelry with detachable pearls or diamonds.

Earrings are a staple in every woman’s wardrobe because they make a distinctive statement, even on days when you wear your most comfortable jeans or athleisure attire. Investing in detachable drop earrings can give you many more ways to wear your favorite styles.  Assael has a whole bevy of earring designs that feature detachable pearls.  You can easily wear the simple stud on the lobe with a blouse and skirt for business meetings and then add your blazer and a gorgeous pearl drop to the earring for that evening’s special event.

With convertible jewelry, you can also mix and match.  In case you have not noticed, there is a huge trend towards mismatched earrings in haute couture fashion. Designer houses like Givenchy, Dior, Simone Rocha, Chanel and more are showcasing mismatched earrings on their runway models. With a detachable drop, you can choose to wear a drop on one ear and not on the other or pair two versions that have different colored gems on the lobes with or without the pearl drops. You can also pair your classic simple pearl stud (probably gifted to you when you first served as a bridesmaid) with a pearl drop earring on the other ear. With Assael’s versatile earring designs, your options expand, and you get many ways to wear out of one pair of earrings.

Versatile Necklaces – The Ultimate Convertible Jewels

This Pearl Diamond Necklace is a beautiful example of convertible jewelry.

There is nothing more fun in a fine jewelry wardrobe than a versatile necklace. Versatile necklaces can easily work with a wide variety of necklines from button-ups and sweaters to sweetheart collars and plunging date-night looks. A lariat chain that lets you clasp it anywhere is a fabulous tool to have in your elegance arsenal. Wrap it multiple times to wear as a choker with high necklines and sweaters or clasp it in a long and sexy Y chain to wear with shells under blazers or your favorite LBD (little black dress).

Assael’s new double row South Sea Baroque Pearl necklace comes with a gorgeous detachable floral clasp which also serves as a convertible brooch. The Keshi Pearl, Natural Purple Jadeite and Diamond clasp comes off, and a single baroque pearl slides on so that the necklace can be worn without the clasp.  The flower easily converts to a brooch which can be worn on the lapel, coat, hat or even handbag of your choice.

A recent fun addition to the Assael Coral collection is a 97” chain featuring fiery Sardinian Coral, Black Onyx and lovely briolette diamonds. The clasp is designed with versatility in mind. Clasp it as a multistrand necklace, wear it as one wonderfully long chain, or get creative and wear it as a headband ala Cleopatra herself. The clasps actually allow the chain to be separated into one 63.5″ chain and another 33.5″ chain. Bring the runway to the real world by wrapping the 33.5″ chain tightly around the neck like a choker, as seen on many designer runways lately. There are no limits to the fun ways to wear it!  The team here at Obsessed by Pearls would love to see this little treasure draped down the back with a bare-backed red or black gown. On the red carpet, of course.

Transforming jewelry, showcased here as a headband, can be converted to a bracelet or necklace.

Versatile pendants and enhancers are also must-haves for the woman on the go. Assael’s multistrand Sardinian coral bracelet has a gorgeous green beryl clasp that is easily removed. It can also be worn on a gold chain as a pendant, long or short. And a simple long strand of pearls can also be worn many different ways. Assael’s 100” Akoya pearl strand offers unlimited options – wear it looped around the neck high for a fabulously jumbled #neckmess or let it droop long and low for dramatic effect. Or take a cue from Chanel’s latest runway show in Paris and Penélope Cruz at the Oscars and wear it as a belt!

Stackables – Wear Them as Singles, Stacked or Spread

These versatile bangles can accommodate a range of occasions.

Stackable rings and bracelets add a great deal of flexibility to your wardrobe.  For a super-casual look or a vibrantly colored print fabric, trying wearing just one ring or bracelet from your stack.  But when you need a bit more drama or flair to spice up your favorite neutrals, pile on a whole stack.  There is something uber charming about a wrist full of bracelets or a perfect pile of stacked rings. Personally, I also like to spread my stack. Depending on my outfit or my outing, sometimes I put my rings on various fingers across both hands, or I will split up my stacked pearl bracelets to wear some on each wrist. It feels very modern and empowering to load up both wrists with precious materials – probably thanks to Wonder Woman and her double cuffed wrists. The great thing about stackables is they put you in charge. Today, wear them piled on the right, tomorrow on the left, next weekend fly solo with just one perfect bracelet or ring. Whatever you like, the look is ultimately personalized by you and for you.
