Embellishments increased the drama on the fall runways in NY, Paris and Milan.  This is great news for the pearl obsessed as frilly, fun and sparkly fabrics call for the solid sheen of pearls.  Akoya pearls set in 18K gold bangles add just the right amount of luster and substance to offset the lighter looks of feathers and lace.  Choker length pearl strands pair well with embroidered sweaters or accented sleeves.

The mid-length skirt or midi skirt is all the rage this season, anything that hits between the knees and the ankles.  Designers like Carolina Herrera, Valentino, Victoria Beckham and Gabriela Hearst each featured their own version. The length of these flouncy skirts call for an opera length pearl strand – the longer the better, as elongated looks are also very slimming.

Another hot trend right off the runway is the ultra-chic and always classic Victorian collar. Temperley London used the ruffled style to top slacks and skirts, while Frame paired a more casual style with jeans and Valentino graced the neckline of their favorite fall dresses with this demure and feminine collar.  Long sleeves and high necks leave little room for necklaces or bracelets, so pearl lovers should pair this look with pearl stud earrings or big bold statement rings like those in the new Bubbles Collection by Sean Gilson for Assael.
