The Met Gala has become THE fashion event of the year, with celebrities and style makers of all types taking the red carpet by storm. Pearls were a big part of the fun. Kylie Jenner wore a wonderful pair of pearl drop earrings with her lavender Versace ensemble. Gal Godot was radiant in all-white Givenchy and an almost bridal pearl-studded headband. Constance Wu and Lucy Boynton opted for pearl-embellished gowns by Marchesa and Prada respectively. Lucy Liu and Emma Stone were stunning in simple, chic pearl drop earrings. And Zoe Kravitz was an absolute knockout in pearl chandelier earrings that added the perfect touch of tradition to her ultra-mod, sleek, open-bodice gown.

Despite the controversy at the end, the Derby started off with its usual flair of fashion and fun as various trendsetters strutted the red carpet in all their finery. Hats weren’t the only accessories of note this year. Pearl drop earrings proved the perfect demure partner for the fascinators and fanciful hats worn with long hairstyles.
